Children’s Care

Children's health rarely follows a straight line. Some families come to us with a specific worry – a milestone that hasn't arrived, a behaviour that's hard to navigate, a symptom that won't settle. Others are looking for a second opinion, or simply for someone who will take the time to listen and explain properly.

Whatever brings you here, Nest Children's offers the kind of comprehensive, development-focused paediatric care you'd expect from a major public developmental service – delivered privately, without the long waits, and with the time and continuity that private care allows. Our paediatricians bring experience from the Gold Coast's Child Development Service, and care for children the way we'd want our own looked after: calm, thorough, and without judgement.

At the heart of how we work is a whole-child approach. We look at the complete picture, not a symptom in isolation – because a child's development and behaviour are shaped by the foundations of everyday life: sleep, nutrition, activity, environment and family. We work with families on those foundations alongside thoughtful, evidence-based medical care. And when medication has a role, we use it deliberately – as one carefully considered part of a broader plan, never a stand-alone answer or a quick fix.

Our paediatricians care for children of all ages, from infancy through adolescence, across the full breadth of paediatrics – with particular depth in development and behaviour.

What makes Nest different

We've built Nest Children's to offer the kind of comprehensive, development-focused care you'd expect from a major public developmental service – privately, without the long waits. Three things set our care apart:

Real developmental expertise. Our paediatricians have particular depth in development and behaviour, with experience from the Gold Coast's Child Development Service. This is considered, thorough care for the things that worry families most – development, behaviour, and the questions that don't fit a rushed appointment.

We look at the whole child. We don't treat a symptom in isolation. Sleep, nutrition, activity and environment shape how children develop and behave, so we build these foundations into every plan, alongside thoughtful medical care. When medication has a role, we use it deliberately – as one part of a broader plan, never a quick fix.

Bulk-billed second opinions. If you'd value another specialist's perspective – on a diagnosis, a medication, or simply a different approach – our second-opinion consults are bulk-billed. We never want cost to stand between a family and the reassurance of a fresh, considered view.

How we can help your child

Considered, unhurried care through childhood – developmental and behavioural assessment, general paediatrics, and bulk-billed second opinions. A calm, judgement-free space for families looking for clear answers and a steady plan.

Children’s appointments

Nest Children's begins welcoming families later in 2026. You're warmly invited to register your interest now – registered families will be offered appointments first as our books open. A GP or specialist referral isn't required to be seen, though one is needed if you'd like to claim a Medicare rebate.

Referring a patient

As Nest Children's opens, we'll welcome referrals for developmental, behavioural, medical and second-opinion paediatric care, via Medical Objects or email. We offer a comprehensive approach – integrating sleep, nutrition and behavioural support with thoughtful medical management.
